Details
Our first Kenyan of the season is an AB selection that comes to us from the Kirimahiga factory (washing station) in Murang'a, which is one of three stations operated by the New Kiriti Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS). Coffee has been cultivated in Murang'a since the 1960, but Kiriti was established in 1988. Today, Kirimahiga collects cherries from 781 active smallholder producers. The New Kiriti FCS elects a seven-member board, and employ individual management teams at each factory. The co-op employs 19 full-time staff that oversee operations and quality control.
