Don Daniel Cruz

Don Daniel Cruz was a highly respected coffee producer and coordinator in his community in Sierra Mazateca, Oaxaca. Sadly, Don Daniel passed away this year, but his work is continued by his son, also named Daniel. The younger Daniel worked side-by-side with his father, training in quality control practices like using humidity readers. Not only has Daniel stepped into his father's role on their own farm, but he has also worked to maintain relationships in the local network of producers that his father had been such a key coordinator in. He continues to work to improve conditions for his community and to take on responsibility to ensure long-term sustainability.
