Fahmi Washing Station is a privately owned business located in Hambella Woreda, West Guji Zone, Ethiopia. It is one of twenty stations owned and operated by Testi Coffee, a family business founded by Mr. Faysel A. Yonis. The village where it is located is called Deri, and Fahmi is the first name of Faysel's first son.
Perched at an altitude of 2,000 meters, the Fahmi station produces exceptional coffees, both washed and natural. Since its establishment in 2017, it has employed eight permanent staff and approximately 250 seasonal workers. During the harvest season, nearly 500 small producers from the surrounding kebeles bring their freshly picked coffee cherries to a collection point in Addis daily.
These farmers, for the most part, work organically on small farms of around 2 hectares. Coffee is their main source of income and is grown alongside food crops such as corn, cereals, and bananas, under the protective shade of Birbira, Wanza, and Acacia trees. The high altitude of local farms, between 1,900 and 2,050 meters, combined with the region's cool climate, encourages slow ripening of the cherries. This process results in denser beans and a cup with a sweeter, more complex flavor profile.

In the beginning, there is a tree, cherries. Once picked, the cherries go through a phase of fermentation and then drying. Then the green coffee bean is ready to arrive at our ports. The transmission of these beans leaves the roaster with the heavy task of revealing their richness and putting you in the best conditions to extract it perfectly.
