A Taste of Finland with Good Life Coffee!
Good Life Coffee Roastery.
This Months Discovery subscription features Nordic's Best Roaster, Good Life Coffee! 

GLC was started as a coffee bar in 2012 by Lauri Pipinen, they were the reigning barista champion of 2011 back then. After two years of buying coffee from roasters in Nordic, they started to roast their own coffee. And today they work only as a roastery.

"Our idea is to roast coffees that are easy to enjoy, that meaning they need to be fresh, clean and sweet, and highlighting the complexity of flavors that different origins produce. We are only 2 owners, and 3 employees, so rather small company."

Good Life is based in the capital city of Finland, Helsinki. Roughly 600,000 people live there. They have it all, 4 seasons, functional public transport, lots of culture and an amazing food scene.

"We are straight forward and honest, no tricks or needless fuzz. We (Finns) tend to be a bit shy and speak little, but we let our actions talk for us. I think with our coffee it is the same. We are not the best in selling/marketing (still learning) but when people taste our coffees, they know we are good."

We are featuring the coffee Good Life used to win the 'Nordics Best Roaster' -competition in 2024 at the Nordic Coffee Fest. This is just the fresh crop from it.

"We will forever remember this, as we beat roasters that we have looked up to for decade, it was something that we couldn't even think that would happen one day. But I guess that hard work pays off eventually!" 

The coffee is produced by Dario Rodriguez in his El Recreo farm in Huila, Colombia. The coffee is super complex, elegant and fruit forward coffee, with nice tropical fruits and florals. 

Our to-go-recipe in the roastery
  • 60g/1l ratio with a Moccamaster and it works great.
  • We usually don't go with super precise recipes as there is so many variables that need to be right. When the coffee is good quality and roasted well, it works almost any way you like it!
