Some flavours you don't have to explain. Strawberries and Cream opens exactly the way it sounds — ripe strawberry first, then a smooth vanilla cream that settles over the whole cup. A light touch of lemon keeps it fresh.
This Grade 1 lot from the Urabeast station in Guji is dried as whole cherry through a carefully controlled, kombucha-inspired fermentation. Naturally occurring yeasts and bacteria build layers of fruit and sweetness while the cherries dry slowly.
We've roasted it for filter — soft, creamy and quietly nostalgic.
Established in 2017, Urabeast sits in Uraga, in the southern reaches of Ethiopia's Guji Zone. At around 2,037 metres, the station works with some 2,500 smallholder farmers from the nearby communities of Suke and Tobutu, who handpick ripe cherry from small plots grown among native shade trees. This Grade 1 lot is processed as a Kombucha Natural — whole-cherry drying with a carefully controlled, kombucha-inspired fermentation that builds fruit and sweetness while keeping the cup clean. Cofinet, our import partner, brought this lot to us.
