Since 2020 we have been working closely with Jorge and the Roble Negro team, visiting the farm three times so far, most recently in February 2024. Last summer we were thrilled to host the Roble Negro team on our side of the world as well. This ongoing exchange continues to strengthen our relationship and deepen our understanding of their craft.
Jorge’s Roble Negro micromill is renowned for its meticulous attention to quality and its thoughtful sustainability practices. Since 2022, we have also started receiving coffee from Jorge’s neighbors Lorena, Alfredo and Daniel, who have joined the Roble Negro project and contribute to the same high standards.
Compared to our other offering of Jorge's Washed-process Red Catuai, this natural process offers a different side of the same variety. With a careful natural process at high altitude, this lot is funky yet graceful. Expect a vibrant structure with winey depth, ripe blackberry character and a toffee-like sweetness. Playful but always elegant, this coffee is both expressive and approachable.
