Eloxochitlán lies deep in Oaxaca’s Sierra Mazateca, one of Mexico’s most remote and least connected coffee-growing regions. Here, producers farm small plots, often less than a hectare, at altitudes around 1500 masl. Introduced to us by Raw Material, we work with this group to help bring stability to an area where yields are among the lowest in Mexico, but cup quality is among the highest. Typica, Mundo Novo and Bourbon thrive in the cool mountain climate, processed using traditional washed methods. The result is a coffee that feels familiar and inviting, with flavours of brown sugar, pear, shortbread and plum.
