producer

this lot was produced by smallholder farmers delivering to the Guama Factory in Kirinyaga County, central Kenya. the factory is part of the Baragwi Farmers' Cooperative Society, established in 1974 and known for its strong quality control and transparent operations. farmers cultivate varieties including SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru 11, grown in rich volcanic soils at elevations ranging from 1,600–1,800 MASL.

processing

cherries are hand-sorted, pulped, and fermented overnight, then washed and graded. drying takes place on raised African beds for 8-14 days, with protective covering during peak heat and overnight. this traditional Kenyan washed process highlights the coffee’s clarity, brightness, and complexity.
