Since 2020 we have been working closely with Jorge and the Roble Negro team, visiting the farm three times so far, most recently in February 2024. Last summer we were thrilled to host the Roble Negro team on our side of the world as well. This ongoing exchange continues to strengthen our relationship and deepen our understanding of their craft.
Jorge’s Roble Negro micromill is renowned for its meticulous attention to quality and its thoughtful sustainability practices. Since 2022, we have also started receiving coffee from Jorge’s neighbors Lorena, Alfredo and Daniel, who have joined the Roble Negro project and contribute to the same high standards.
This Red Catuai Washed is a beautifully clean and elegant expression. At 1875 meters above sea level, cherries are carefully selected and washed with precision, yielding a cup that is round and sweet with notes of caramel, orange blossom and gentle nuttiness. A very refined and complex coffee that shines with balance.
