Roaster

We’re Feldi and Ilan, two coffee nerds from Germany. When we met, we were both working in coffee but for different companies. Feldi has a pretty unique background—he has a Bachelor Professional in Metal Construction, worked as a chef in various restaurants, and spent four years as a coffee roaster at a roastery. As for me, I’m an artist in photography and written word who got hooked on coffee and spent over five years working in specialty coffee roasteries and cafés. I also taught myself how to roast during that time.

The magic really started when we roasted together for the first time. That week, we learned more from each other than we had in months of working solo. It just clicked. So, we decided to team up and start our own roastery, and in November 2021, Stray Coffee Roasters was born!

At first, we focused on our online shop and selling to other businesses, but about a year and a half later, in April 2023, we opened our own café. It’s been amazing—we’ve built a lovely little community of coffee lovers, with friends both behind the bar and hanging out in the café. Things have been steadily growing ever since.
