Close to the Kenyan border lies Tarime, a small municipality with a washing station serving nearby coffee farmers.
The farms in the area were neglected from 2017 to 2019 due to regulatory changes that caused uncertainty.
Four years ago, an effort was made to revive the area due to its previous history of producing high-quality coffees. This project focused on introducing better production practices and paying higher premiums to reward quality.
