It is hard to believe that this impeccable washed Chiroso from Luis Arnulfo Caro is actually the first lot ever produced on his farm, Hoyo Rico! Luis has only been a coffee producer for three years. He used to be an emerald miner, but after seeing the success of his brother Jose's farm in Urrao, he was convinced to start his coffee journey. Hoyo Rico is nine hectares, and sits at an elevation of 2,100 mas in the village of Guintar, in Anzá, Antioquia, which neighbours Urrao. Luis has planted the farm exclusively with the Chiroso variety. With Luis getting off to such a successful start in his first harvest, we are looking forward to tasting what he produces next season.
