This exciting coffee is produced by the Long Miles Coffee Project and the small farmers from the local community near the processing station in Kirinyaga, Kenya. Long Miles Coffee Project teamed up with Haron Wachira from Akili Holdings Ltd. to refurbish their old family owned processing station Njowa Coffee Factory.
Following up on the lot separation idea of the original Long Miles Project in Burundi the surrounding area is divided into three plots of land separated by river boundaries. From these plots of land the coffee cherries are processed as separated traceable lots instead of bulk lots sold under the factory name as is the tradition in Kenya.
The original Long Miles Coffee Project has been helping local coffee farming communities in Burundi to improve their coffee production, find access to the Specialty Coffee market and to have a better price paid for the coffee that they produce. The new project in Kenya is following up with the same vision and integrity and we are quite excited to be part of that process. And super excited to have their first harvest in!

We found this coffee to be both very clean and bright. Tasting really crisp and sweet, with juicy notes of grapefruit, citrus, currants and big florals in the aroma. Good mouthfeel and great complexity. Very nice berry driven Kenya!
