Egu Abaya is the name of the washing station located at a stunning 2,200 metres above sea level, owned by a rising star producer in Ethiopia, Israel Degfa. It's relatively cold due to the high elevation, and subsequently cherry maturation, fermentation, and drying happen slowly.
They process both washed and natural coffees at Eguy Abaya, and this lot of naturally processed coffee straddles the line in between both in terms of cup character. It is extremely clean, almost delicate in its fruit flavour, with sweet red grapes and lush stone fruits coming through with a pleasant black tea finish. Please enjoy!
